Vasuki Kalsarpa Yoga

Indian mythology is probably the most extensive one in the world. Not only does it teach us the proper way to live our lives, also provides us with a very unique way of saving ourselves from the sins we might commit due to the problems in our birth chart. One such problem is the Vasuki Kaalsarp Dosh. It is one of the twelve Kaalsarp Dosh that exist due to the various positions of Rahu and Ketu in our birth charts or Kundli. Rahu and Ketu are the two imaginary points of moon or shadow planets which play as important a role framing our fate as the other seven planets in the birth chart.

‘Vasuki’ has been regarded as the king of serpents. In Srimad Bhagwat Gita, Lord Krishna calls himself Vasuki. Quite as expected, Vasuki Kaalsarp Dosh is feared a lot as it is considered to be the wrath of God. As seen from an astrological perspective, the dosh of Vasuki is caused when Rahu is in the 3rd house of the birth chart which is believed to be the house of courage/brother and Ketu is placed in the ninth house which is regarded as the house of father/fortune. During such an arrangement, if all other seven planets form a circle around Rahu/Ketu, The Vasuki Kaalsarp Dosh comes into existence.

Side Effects:

Since the positions of Rahu/Ketu affect the person’s courage and fortune house, he may not get the support of luck thereby affecting his livelihood to a great extent. Losses in partnerships, business problems are also accompanied by this problem. When the person facing this dosh undergoes any problems, he gets frustrated and might increase his troubles rather than decreasing them. Financial problems, not getting apt support from siblings/family members are also accompanied. Such people have been advised not to trust anyone blindly, no matter however close. Any travels during the Mahadasha of Rahu/Ketu are to be avoided.

Remedies:

It has been said that proper worship of Lord Krishna is very helpful in decreasing the malefic results of Vasuki Kaalsarp Dosh. Also worshipping Nag Devta is considered very auspicious. Keeping a fast during Nag Panchami, worship of Rahu and Ketu are few of the methods necessary to fight the detrimental effects of this Dosh. It is also a belief that while chanting the mantras for worship of Rahu/Ketu, offering cluster of beans and millets is a very prominent way of fighting the effects of The Vasuki Kaalsarp Dosh.

It is believed that past birth sins like being disrespectful towards one’s father, not performing his correct funeral rites, killing of snakes etc. are few of the reasons for the existence of Kaalsarp Dosh in someone’s Kundli. Lord Krishna has quite truly remarked in Bhagwat Gita that one must do what is right rather than thinking about the bygone and the future results of his/her deeds.

The same applies everywhere. The fact that we cannot reverse our previous birth no matter how hard we try is a universal truth. So, it is for our own good that we must take the necessary steps to get rid of the problems we have rather than cursing ourselves in order to live a happy life.
